Following the Newsday article of Thursday 08 July 2021 where some workers at Yakuts Mine in Matobo District are complaining of being treated like slaves – MIHR has undertaken to investigate the matter in order to protect human and environmental rights.
Today MIHR met with the 5 affected workers to hear their story and also communicated with the mine management. The organization will soon be visiting the mine and the Mines Union to reconcile the matter.
