The Nkankezi Bridge in Filabusi has been destroyed by the floods making the road impassable to motorists. This is the major road linking Matabeleland and Masvingo.
The collapse of the bridge means Freedom of movement is now curtailed. More importantly the broken bridge means Right to Health and Right to Life for the people of Filabusi and most of Insiza District is now at high risk as they rely on Bulawayo Hospitals for access to health.
Once more we call on Mr President Robert Mugabe to uphold his duty as espoused in Section 44 of the Constitution and DECLARE THE MATABELELAND CYCLONE FLOODS A HUMANITARIAN DISASTER
