CONGRATULATING MATABELELAND LEGISLATORS APPOINTED TO PARLY COMMITTEES

Matabeleland Institute for Human Rights (MIHR) wishes to congratulate all Members of Parliament (House of Assembly and Senators) from Matabeleland who have been appointed to various important roles in the Parliamentary Committees as of 11 October 2018.

The following legislators from Matabeleland have been appointed to various committees:

Matabeleland MPs appointed Chairpersons of House of Assembly Committees:

Hon. Dr R. Labode: Health and Child Care

Hon. P.D Sibanda: Information, Media and Broadcasting Services

Hon. D molekela: Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development

Hon. Gabbuza: Energy and Power Development

Hon. P. Misihairambwi-Mushonga: Primary and Secondary Education

Hon. Rtd Brigadier General L. Mayihlome: Defence, Home Affairs and Security Services

Matabeleland Senators appointed to Chair Senate Thematic Committees:

Hon. Sen. Chief Khumalo: Sustainable Development Goals

Hon. Sen. S. Ncube: Gender Development and Empowerment

Meanwhile Hon. I.K. Phulu was appointed into the Parliamentary Legal Committee and and Hon. S. Mathe was appointed member of the Pan African Parliament.

Furthermore, in the Senate, Hon. Sen S.K. Moyo and Hon. Sen T. Mohadi have been appointed into the Chairperson’s Panel.

Matabeleland Institute for Human Rights wishes the legislators all the best in their new roles and wishes to encourage them to do their best to ensure that the various Committees of execute their mandate in full without fear and favor to ensure the enjoyment of human rights by all.

MIHR is an independent human rights watchdog based in Bulawayo and exists to enhance the protection, promotion and fulfillment of human rights enjoyment in the Matabeleland region of Zimbabwe.
